Car Engine trouble

Car Engine trouble

It is possible to detect engine troubles and defects by visual, operational and sound indications. Operational signs are the most acceptable in our case, because we operate our car and we know best of all what is wrong with it.

For example, the engine starts and stalls immediately. The reasons for this may be:

  • Poor attachment of the distributor, ignition coil or generator
  • Lack of vacuum in the carburetor, vacuum hoses, inlet pipe
  • Lack of fuel
  • Low idle (must be adjust)
  • Dirty fuel system or fuel filter
  • The choke does not work
  • Damaged wiring
  • Exhaust system troubles
  • Troubles of spark plugs
  • Incorrect valve clearances

Ignition misfires in the cylinders idling.

  • Malfunction of spark plugs
  • Damage to high voltage wires
  • Oxidation of wire ends
  • Faulty distributor breaker
  • Short in wiring
  • Invalid ignition timing
  • Low compression in cylinders
  • The choke does not work
  • Unsuitability of air filters
  • fuel nozzle clogged

Causes of flashes in the carburetor:

  • The exhaust gas recirculation system does not work correctly
  • Ignition timing not adjusted
  • Clogged air purification system
  • Incorrect valve clearances
  • Damaged valve springs, valve sticking
  • Incorrect fuel level in the carburetor float chamber
  • High voltage defect
  • Injection system wear

Silencer Shots:

  • In one of the cylinders the spark plug does not work;
  • rich mixture.

The engine runs unevenly:

  • Damaged cylinder head gasket.
  • Poor functioning of the air damper.
  • The fuel filter is clogged
  • Troubles of spark plugs
  • Incorrect installation of the ignition timing
  • Bad wiring contact
  • High-voltage wire lugs oxidized
  • Malfunction of the ignition coil
  • Leaking exhaust gas recirculation valve
  • Clogged crankcase ventilation valve
  • The air filter is clogged
  • The fuel pump does not supply the required amount of fuel
  • Valve clearances not adjusted. Valves are loose.
  • Dirty carburetor or injectors
  • The idle speed is not adjusted.

Revolutions pulsate when the accelerator is stationary:

  • The fuel pump is working poorly
